Program Packages available to Primary Parents Involved with the Child Welfare System

Are you a Parent Involved with the Child Welfare System?

Getting involved with the child welfare system is a life-changing event. You may feel like the system is against you, but the truth is that everyone really wants  you to succeed. If you can see the possibility that this experience could be a positive turning point in your life and work together with the other team members on common goals, your children might come home faster and/or you may be able to keep custody of them.

We understand how the system works (or is supposed to) and are here to support you. Through quality parent education, you can get the skills you need to heal your relationship with your children (and possibly your extended family) and be not just a healthy, effective parent, which every child needs, but a trauma-informed parent. Then, you and your children can heal from whatever circumstances or events brought you into the system and become more resilient and healthier than before.

Step-by-Step Training Process

You might already know some of what these training programs teach, so it will be encouraging to get affirmation for all you are already doing well! It's a given, however, that you don't already know everything that's taught, because even licensed professionals don't learn some of what these programs teach in their college degrees! That missing information or skill might be just what you need to fill in any gaps that are causing problems or preventing you from reaching your goals. It might be the key to opening the door to your success as a parent.

To support you in this journey, these training programs walk you step-by-step through the process:
  • Level 1: Introductory Basics.
Getting oriented to working with the system,
  • Level 1a: First Things First (optional, if needed).
Addressing any issues that need resolving before you can take the core classes, so reunification can occur or your case can be closed,
  • Level 2: Comprehensive CORE Training.
Learning trauma-informed parenting skills, which everyone who lives and works with children needs to know and master.  (And whatever has led you here was traumatic for you and your children.)
  • Level 3: Optional Electives.
Each parent and family's needs and issues are unique. The previous levels cover what is universally needed for all parents and most commonly needed by most who are involved with protective services. These courses are optional and can be added on to customize a training package for each parent.
  • Level 4: Ongoing Support.
Continue to learn, grow and heal. We are here to support you beyond the crisis and to bring total resolution and healing, so similar future crises don't occur.
