Releasing Guilt and Shame During Recovery

  • Course
  • 1 Lesson

If you are a parent coming out of addiction and into recovery, guilt and shame can become barriers to reconnecting with your children and building new healthy relationships. Even when forgiven by others, it can be a struggle sometimes to forgive yourself. In this course, you  will learn how to build guilt free relationships in which guilt neither motivates nor prohibits significant behavior. You will learn the difference between healthy guilt, emotional guilt, and shame. You will learn to process memories and emotions in a way that moves you towards self-forgiveness and the ability to accept the forgiveness of others. This program is compatible with steps 8,9, and 10 in most 12 step programs.
