Understanding Transracial Adoption

We will explore the various types of adoption and what it means to adopt transracially (also interchangeably referred to as transcultural adoption).
We will discuss considerations such as:
  1. transracial adoption preparation
  2. understanding beliefs and attitudes around race, ethnicity, and culture in our society
  3. extended family, community, social circle, and lifestyle
  4. nurturing a healthy identity for your child and family
  5. long-term implications for your adult child as it relates to societal integration
We will also discuss available resources to assist individuals and couples who might be considering and/or actively parenting through transracial adoption.
