The Connection Between Trauma And Children’s Mental Health, with David Zidar LISW-S

  • Course
  • 5 Lessons

Current research shows there is a mental health crisis occurring among both adults and children. While there are multiple factors that can contribute to the development of mental illness, one known factor is trauma. When trauma occurs during childhood, it impacts development, too.

Childhood trauma used to only be associated with child abuse and neglect. Today, a wide spectrum of “Adverse Childhood Experiences” almost any child could experience has been found to contribute to physical and mental health dis-eases. This means children from stable loving homes could experience mental health issues related to trauma.

Attend this webinar to:

  1.  How to draw a direct line from trauma to their child’s behavior today.
  2. Calming methods for both the children and themselves.
  3. The importance of the continuum from post traumatic stress to post trauma growth.
  4. Basic self-care skills.
