For 60+ years, Parenting Education has been widely publicly available through classes, resources, and the media. The field has focused on its professionals’ credentials and giving quality information while remaining virtually invisible to the parents who seek that advice!
Parents don’t attend parenting classes because of the stigma that they are for “bad” parents. This is perpetuated by agencies who only offer free services through grant funding to low-income high-risk parents.
Most parents today seek out parenting information on the internet, where most advice is from non-credential, self-proclaimed “experts” giving misinformation or personal opinions.
The U.S. Surgeon General published at least seven advisories or warnings in the past three years about issues affecting families. He never mentioned parenting education as a solution that statistics show can prevent and improve every problem he mentioned.
Even funders and parents who think they are getting “evidence-based” parenting programs don’t realize that long-term research shows certain programs misrepresent themselves and can even be harmful or abusive!

All this leads to unaware consumers being duped into believing misinformation while the most important, credible, and qualified sources of research-based parenting information are jumping up and down on the sidelines waving their arms thinking, “Hello! We are here!”
So what are these issues and how can each of us get the best parenting information to the parents who want it? This webinar will enlighten, inform, and motivate you into action!
