It’s a unique challenge to care for children who have been removed from their primary parents, and helping these children heal while the adults work through issues that will affect whether there can be reunification or a need for a permanency plan.

The Advanced Trauma-Informed Parents Toolshop® TIPS series teaches foster- and adoptive-parents and kinship caregivers the Universal Blueprint® Parenting Success System, infusing each module with trauma-informed parenting principles. Each course session presents the parenting theories upon which the teachings are founded, and practical tools that research has found to be effective in achieving positive long-term outcomes for all children.

Plus, you’ll learn advanced concepts about the effects of toxic stress and trauma and how they affect children’s biology and behavior.

Best of all, all this follows a proven-effective parenting plan you can follow to prevent common behavior challenges and respond helpfully to each parenting situation that arises with confidence and competence.

When you take the core Advanced courses in order you can learn the entire Universal Blueprint® for [Foster-Adoptive] Parenting Success system in-depth. We've bundled them into a discounted package you can take at your own pace, earning a completion certificate for each course separately. Testimonials from other Foster-Adoptive Parents

This is by far the best workshop we have attended. Every week we learned things we could take home and apply immediately. In many areas it introduced a whole new way of thinking (and talking).

Cheryl A. Neff

This course was like winning the lottery, I quickly used the techniques and it worked immediately! It was awesome getting everything I needed to help my child grow up safe and strong all in one course.

Susan Elias

I have been a foster parent for 3 years and attend 10 hours of training each year. This is by far the most useful and helpful of all the seminars we have attended. It's the one that gives me practical techniques that I actually use every day.

Cathy Miller

I wanted to let you know how much our agency enjoyed your presentation of The Parent's Toolshop®. Our foster parents said the information was very beneficial to their biological children, as well as to their foster children. We were particularly fond of the real-life applications of the material, the detailed illustrations in the book, and the great use of diagrams and pictures you used to explain the skills involved. I feel that our staff and foster parents would greatly benefit from another training.

Thomas W. Tamplin, Coordinator of Community Relations, Youth Services Network of Southwest Ohio

This class has taught me skills to cope with my children. Our family is now talking and listening to each other. I could use more classes to keep up with our growing family. The kids are more enjoyable and learning the skills for themselves.

Candace McCabe

This class has taught me how to integrate love, kindness, and caring with healthy discipline, active communication, and the skills of pausing and acknowledging the child’s feelings. Life and raising children is a process. Now it’s time to have a life-changing and rewarding process. I really want to thank Jody Pawel for instructing this wonderful class and putting her heart and passion into it. Thank you Jody for The Parents Toolshop.
