THIS Month
Teaching children about personal boundaries is a powerful way to support both their safety and their overall development. This live webinar focuses on how adults can intentionally build skills such as body awareness, autonomy, empathy, and consent—skills that are essential not only for healthy relationships, but also for effective CSA prevention.
Presented by returning guest speaker Lindsey Burhardt, Author and Director of Prevention Initiatives at Families Flourish ND, this session reframes everyday developmental skills as critical protective factors. Participants will explore how open, age-appropriate conversations and consistent boundary-respecting practices help children feel confident expressing their needs, preferences, and limits.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
Explain how foundational skills, such as autonomy, empathy, and consent, lay the groundwork for child sexual abuse (CSA) prevention, rather than being viewed as merely part of typical development.
Identify and apply strategies to support body awareness in children, in ways that are age‑appropriate and empowering.
Name effective prevention strategies that adults can use to reduce CSA risk, along with practical ways to empower children.
